NCAA Tournament 2016: 5 potential Cinderella teams

The big day has come, as in the real start of the 2016 NCAA Tournament. Today marks the start of the Round of 64, in which we’ll see the first set of teams vying for a national championship, and that also means we get the first taste of this year’s potential Cinderella teams.

For those unaware, an NCAA Tournament Cinderella is a low-seeded team that often goes on to make a deep tournament run despite being picked as a candidate for an early exit. For example, George Mason made the Final Four as a No. 11 seed in 2006. In 2011, Virginia Commonwealth made the Final Four also as a No. 11 seed.

And with all of the parity that existed in college basketball this season, each and every low-seeded team has what it takes to be this year’s major Cinderella. The question, however, is which ones will get over the hump?

Thus, let’s take a look at the bracket and pick just which teams do indeed have the potential to make such a run this year.
