2016 Big Ten college football season preview and predictions

Northwestern

The Northwestern Wildcats are coming off a very impressive 2015 season that saw them go 10-3 and got to a bowl game for the first time in two seasons. Head coach Pat Fitzgerald looks to lead his team to success once again and it rides mostly on their defense.

They led the nation by allowing just five passing touchdowns and were seventh with just 4.5 yards per game. Pass rusher Ifeadi Odenigbo should be their best player in that right, while quarterback Clayton Thorsen looks to lead his offense.

Prediction: 8-4 (5-4), Music City Bowl
