2016 Big Ten college football season preview and predictions

Iowa

The Hawkeyes had their best season in school history as they went 12-0, went to the Big Ten conference championship game and made their first Rose Bowl appearance in 25 years.

While they don’t seem to be on that path again this year, they could certainly compete for a spot in a big bowl game once again.

C.J. Beathard returns to lead the team, while most of the offensive line returns to help a team that averaged 181.7 rushing yards per game last year. Their defense should be their strong point with three starting defensive linemen returning to the fold.

Prediction: 8-4 (5-4), Holiday Bowl
