Nebraska WR Lavan Alston ready for breakout season in 2016

The Nebraska Cornhuskers look like they could possibly win the Big Ten West going into the 2016 season and get back into contention in the conference. One player that hopes to be a part of their success is wide receiver Lavan Alston.

Alonzo Moore is one of the team’s senior leaders this year and he spoke with 247Sports about Alston, who came to Nebraska as a four-star recruit by some outlets, and said that everyone has forgotten about him this summer.

Lavan Alston has really stuck out to me,” Moore said. “He’s really put in the work and it’s starting to show.”

Alston was hoping to be a big part of their team last year before he tore his ACL in August and missed the entire season. Moore says he has recovered well and it doesn’t even look like he was ever injured.

“You cannot tell that he tore his ACL,” Moore said. “When he’s running you just cannot tell that he tore it. He’s a fast guy, he’ll get in and out of the breaks very quickly.”

This should be a big year for the Cornhuskers and Alston should be a part of it. They open the year on Sept. 3 when they face off against Fresno State.
