5. Stanford v. Washington (-4)
It’s a shade of red versus sledding dogs to open the college football weekend. The No. 7 Stanford Cardinal will make an 812-mile trip into Washington and try to down a No. 10 Huskies team. Underdogs despite being ranked ranked higher than the Huskies, the Cardinal will look to Heisman hopeful, Christian McCaffrey.
So far, the dynamic McCaffrey has rushed for 436 yards on the ground, and has 119 receiving yards, both Cardinal team highs. Couple that with the fact that the Husky defense is 38th in the country in average yards allowed and Stanford figures to move the ball effectively, score points, and do enough on defense to cover the spread and win.
The pick: Stanford +4
