Arkansas Pizzeria agrees to give away 1,000 pizzas if Razorbacks beat Alabama

An Arkansas pizzeria will give away 1,000 free pizzas if the hometown Razorbacks can knock off the defending national champion Alabama Crimson Tide. That story again: a small, family owned pizzeria will be thrown violently into poverty if Arkansas beats the No. 1 team in the nation.

Rolf Wilkin of Eureka pizzeria made the offer official on his twitter:

The offer seems like a safe one considering the Razorbacks are two-touchdown dogs against the Nick Saban led Crimson Tide. At the very least, it builds goodwill with his customers who he hopes will swing by and grab a slice to commiserate over the absolute dismantling they will likely suffer through.

The Razorbacks, despite being ranked No. 16, have failed to impress against any real opponents, beating Louisiana Tech by only one point and losing by three touchdowns to Texas A&M. Alabama, on the other hand, has been as good as billed. They took the USC Trojans to task in beating them by seven touchdowns and finally broke their curse against Ole Miss earlier this year.

If the Razorbacks win, I’ll eat my words, and Arkansans will eat pizza. But something tells me we’ll all be ordering Chinese.
