While the Lakers were on the clock, Lonzo Ball sat confidently, appearing relaxed as a parade of people leaned in and whispered something in his ear.
Adam Silver stepped up to the mic and confirmed months of “speaking it into existence” from the mouth of his father, LaVar. Scouts are incredibly high on Lonzo Ball, and feel like he is capable of leading the franchise into a successful post-Kobe future.
Lonzo will be expected to produce from day one. The media parade that followed him, his father, and to a lesser extent (for now) his two younger brothers was a relentless onslaught. In many ways, that ended today. inconceivably though, it might only be the beginning of the Ball family dominating the sports conversation.

To say controversy follow Lonzo would be an overstatement. However, his father LaVar Ball has made waves across the NBA and the sports world with outrageous, often times overly confident pronouncements of his sons ability. Now will come time for Lonzo to prove he is better than Michael Jordan and Seth Curry.
In a post-selection interview, LaVar Ball was already wearing a Los Angeles Lakers colored hat that said “BBB”, for his propriety Big Baller Brand.
