Big 12 Football will have a conference championship game this season.
After being reduced to 10 teams, the Big 12 was barred from the NCAA of having a tournament championship game, and was therefore left out of the College Football Playoff voting two of the last three years.
The hope is that the addition of a conference championship will help give one of the members of the conference the final push it needs to get into the tournament. And with a conference championship, comes a new conference slogan.
This one is part rebranding, part tongue in cheek towards their previous slogan.

The previous slogan “One True Champion” was misleading. Without use of a conference championship, the conference, in effect, was unable to crown a “true champion.”
This was evidenced in 2015, when the conference awarded a split for the Big 12 title to the TCU Horned Frogs and the Baylor Bears.
Now that the NCAA is allowing conferences with 10 teams to hold their own conference championships, they’ll get a chance to name an actual champion, “guaranteed.”
