Biggest NFL Draft Busts: Top 10 Worst No. 1 Picks In History

9. Dan Wilkinson

Dan Wilkinson, who was nicknamed “Big Daddy,” never lived up to the expectations of a No. 1 overall pick. The defensive lineman had a tumultuous career with the Cincinnati Bengals which ultimately wore thin with the coaching staff, so he was traded to the Washington Redskins. Wilkinson went on to have a lengthy career as a situational player, but he lacked the impact you expect from a player at the top of the draft. On top of his lack of production, Wilkinson pled no contest in 1996 to charges that he struck his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach. That led to the player being sued for breach of contract.
