The Jacksonville Jaguars have unveiled their new uniforms for the 2018-19 NFL regular season on Thursday and the franchise is going back to a more traditional look. No more are the two-toned black and gold helmets, because the team has returned to an all-black helmet that is finished with high-gloss black paint. Other features for the new Jaguars uniforms are a water-resistant material that allows the jerseys to stay light despite wet or sweaty conditions, along with the Jaguars logo over the player’s heart.

“True to our current identity and what we want to represent for years to come, our new uniforms are no-nonsense, all business and unmistakably Jaguars,” Jaguars owner Shad Khan said in a statement. “Tradition has returned to Jacksonville.”

The new uniforms weigh just 20.4 ounces, which is four ounces lighter than industry standard for Nike uniforms.
“I wanted to see the return of tradition, I wanted to see the distinctiveness, I wanted the shiny black helmet with a beautiful Jaguars logo,” EVP of Football Ops Tom Coughlin added. “I wanted to be represented that way. Just exactly how I’ve explained it: the classic Jaguar uniform.”
