The Duke basketball program landed a major commitment late Monday night.
Marvin Bagley III, who was the top-rated recruit in the Class of 2018, announced that he would be joining the Blue Devils. The best news for Duke? Bagley is reclassifying to the Class of 2017, making him eligible to help on the court immediately.
Bagley made his announcement on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
To show just what went into Duke landing the top prospect, the Blue Devils, head coach Mike Krzyzewski and the legendary Danny Ferry gave Bagley the approval to wear No. 35, which had been retired in Ferry’s honor.

Bagley chose the Blue Devils over UCLA and USC.
The 6-foot-11 Bagley was a standout at Sierra Canyon High School, which makes Duke landing the five-star recruit over his two home state schools all the more impressive.
