Ohio State Basketball Team Upsets No. 1 Michigan State

The Ohio State basketball team capped off the weekend with a big win at home, pulling off an upset that will lead to a new No. 1 team in the updated rankings on Monday.
On Sunday evening, the Buckeyes steamrolled the top-ranked Michigan State Spartans, 80-64, at Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center.
Junior forward Keita Bates-Diop came up big for the Buckeyes, leading the way with 32 points and a team-leading seven rebound. Jae’Sean Tate, C.J. Jackson and Kam Williams also scored in double-digits.
Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer was in attendance for the big win.


The win moves Ohio State to 13-4 on the season, while Michigan State falls to 15-2.
Next up for the Buckeyes is a home game against the Maryland Terrapins on Thursday, Jan. 11. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. ET. on ESPN2. The Spartans, meanwhile, will look to bounce back on Wednesday, Jan. 10 against Rutgers. That game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network.
