SMU Offers Free Tickets & Food To Hurricane Harvey Victims

The Pony Express is reaching out to those who were hit hard by Hurricane Harvey. On Tuesday, SMU announced the university is offering free tickets and concession vouchers to those who were affected by the catastrophic storm.
SMU is located in Dallas, well north of the affected Houston area where much of the landscape is underwater.
The tickets are for the Mustangs season opener against Stephen F. Austin at Ford Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. ET and those who apply for the meal vouchers will receive a complimentary hot dog and soda. The offer echoes the one offered earlier by Baylor University, which also offered a free parking voucher.
The game will also be “Salute To Our Heroes” themed, serving as a tribute to all active military members and veterans.
What SMU is ultimately giving away is more than a football game and a meal; it’s a fun night out. In times of great stress and devastation, sometimes what you need is mindless fun; a night out. It can be had at SMU at no cost.
