Miami finds no evidence of assault against Appalachian State student

Following the Miami Hurricanes’ win over Appalachian State, one Mountaineers student came forward and claimed Miami players assaulted members of the Appalachian State color guard.

Miami investigated the allegations and, on Thursday, athletic director Blake James released the findings.

According to Linda Robertson of the Miami Herald, there was no video evidence that supported the claims of assault. Appalachian State also investigated the incident and is expected to release a statement on the matter sometime on Thursday.

However, it is unlikely Appalachian State’s investigation will yield different results.

According to Mountaineers Associate Athletics Director Zeke Beam, “the University of Miami went above and beyond to review the incident.”

Miami dominated Appalachian State on the field to advance to 3-0 on the season.

The Hurricanes have the week off before returning to action on Oct. 1 against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Atlanta to open Miami’s ACC schedule.
