Emmanuel Malou would have had an opportunity to become a major player for the Iowa State Cyclones during the 2016 college basketball season, but he has decided he will not join the program.
On Wednesday morning, it was reported that the 6-foot-9 forward would be remaining in the 2016 NBA Draft pool.

Malou, who was born in Melbourne, Australia, most recently played for Yuba Community College in Arizona.
According to plenty of buzz, a big part of Malou’s decision to remain in the NBA Draft was the uncertainty of whether he would be cleared by the NCAA to play at Iowa State. Had he been able to join Steve Prohm’s team, the Cyclones may have been one of the darkhorses in the NCAA this year.
As for Malou’s prospects in the draft, he is unlikely to hear his name called in the first round. Instead, Malou will hope that his athleticism and upside will be enough for a team to take a risk on a raw shot blocker in Round 2.
