Jahlil Okafor, Tony Romo had promised each other titles

The Duke Blue Devils won the 2015 NCAA basketball national championship on Monday night. With the win, Duke star Jahlil Okafor kept his promise to Dallas Cowboys quarterback/Blue Devils superfan Tony Romo.

As it turns out, Okafor and Romo made a pact when Okafor was still in high school.

The plan was for Okafor and the Blue Devils to go on and win the NCAA championship, while Romo was supposed to lead his Cowboys to the Super Bowl.

“Selfie with Tony Romo last night at the Duke game. Said he’s apart of the Duke fam too. Our deal is for me to win a national championship next year and for him to win the Super Bowl,” Okafor wrote on Instagram.

Unfortuately, Romo and the Cowboys fell short while Okafor held up his end of the bargain.

Maybe Romo and the Cowboys can get over the hump next season.

That would have to count for something, right?

Meanwhile, Okafor will be determining whether he will return to the Duke Blue Devils for his sophomore season or whether he will become the latest one-and-done player to wear a Duke uniform before heading to the NBA.
