UNC Asheville’s Andrew Rowsey to transfer

The UNC Asheville Bulldogs basketball team is going to suffer a major loss, after news that guard Andrew Rowsey is set to transfer from the program.

Rowsey made the announcement on social media and thanked the UNC Asheville fans for his time with the team.

“I want to thank Asheville for a wonderful experience the last two years,” Rowsey wrote on Instagram. “I appreciate all of the support the community, my teammates, the coaches and the staff have given me. Asheville will always be a home of mine.”

Last season, Rowsey averaged an impressive 19.2 points per game. In his freshman season, Rowsey had averaged 20.3 points per contest.

Rowsey will have two seasons of eligibility remaining in his collegiate career, but he will be forced to sit out for one season following his transfer if he heads to another Division I school.
