The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are the latest college football team to receiving rings to commemorate their win during the postseason. Photos of the rings were released on social media and they celebrate the team’s Orange Bowl win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs, among other things.
Check out the rings below:
Across the top of the rings, it says “Orange Bowl Champions.” The Capital One Orange Bowl logo is also featured on one side of the ring, with “ACC Coastal Champions” above it and the player’s number below.
On the opposite side of the ring, things get a bit more entertaining. Above an outline of the state of Georgia is the player’s last name and below is the team’s 11-3 record from last season. However, the best part of the ring comes with what is inscribed inside of the Georgia state outline: State Champions.
Yes, the Georgia Tech football team has rings celebrating a “state championship” win over the in-state rival Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia Tech also defeated Georgia Southern earlier in the season, for what it is worth.
Well played, Georgia Tech.
