Rose Bowl will not bid on 2020 championship game

Where will the 2020 College Football Playoff national championship game be held? While we are still waiting for an answer, we do know that the game will not be held at the Rose Bowl.

Officials announced they will not place a bid on the national title game.

“We would love to host a national championship game here,” said Rose Bowl executive director William Flinn. “We’re not going to put a bid out on a hope and a prayer.”

While the Rose Bowl will not be the site of the 2020 title game, you can guarantee there will be a big name game being hosted at the venue.

As for the national championship host site, we will learn which city and venue will play host to the 2018, 2019 and 2020 College Football Playoff championships later this year.

Hosting the championship game will cost the host cities between $13 million and $20 million, according to Chris DuFresne. It’s no small investment, but the game will generate plenty of revenue that will make the initial cost worthwhile.
