NC State commit to consider Kentucky’s offer

After  Whiteville High (North Carolina) small forward Shaun Kirk committed to the North Carolina State Wolfpack on Monday night, the three-star recruit received an offer from John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats.

Naturally, Kirk is going to consider joining the powerhouse program in Kentucky, according to Kyle Tucker of the Courier-Journal.

Kirk’s high school coach offered up some insight and some of the advice that he had for the player.

“You say the grass ain’t always greener on the other side, but could it be?” Singletary told the paper. “I think he’s very interested in what Kentucky has going on out there. He’s just overwhelmed a little bit, because when you talk to a person like Calipari on the phone, he was like, ‘Wow, Coach, I didn’t know this could happen.’”

“I love N.C. State, but when you go home and – from a business aspect – Kentucky calls you, I know what I would do.”

You can’t knock Kirk from considering the offer, despite his previous commitment to North Carolina State.

In the end, Kirk has to do what is best for him in order to set himself up for success moving forward. When it comes to success, John Calipari has proven he can put players in a graet position.
