Cardale Jones Suggests He’s Going Pro After 2015

From third string quarterback to national champion to…NFL draftee? That is exactly what is going on Columbus, Ohio Wednesday morning as Cardale Jones said on his Instagram that he hopes 2015 will be his last season playing college football.

College Spun first shared the news this morning that Jones hopes 2015 is his “last go round.” The Instagram gave a shout out to redshirt junior running back Bri’onte Dunn, as well as slipping in a bit of foreshadowing.

Jones, who will be a redshirt junior as well, stepped in for an injured J.T. Barrett, who was in for an injured Braxton Miller, led the Buckeyes to a win in the Big Ten Championship game, a win over Alabama in the College Football Playoff, and then the eventual national championship win over Oregon. Jones will now compete against Miller and Barrett for the starting position this fall.

I’m sure another improbable performance for Jones would make him one of the most interesting prospects in the 2016 NFL Draft. First, Jones has to win the starting position and possibly another national title.
