The Syracuse Orange and the St. John’s Red Storm will continue their storied rivalry into the 2015-2016 season. It was reported early Wednesday morning by Jon Rothstein that St. John’s would host the Orange at historic Madison Square Garden in New York City on December 13.

The Red Storm went 21-12 and finished fifth in the Big East under Steve Lavin last season. They made the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011 before they were ousted by San Diego State in the Round of 64.
The Orange went 18-13 last season and missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012. The team would have missed the postseason regardless due to the self-imposed punishment due to an ongoing NCAA investigation.
The Orange currently lead the all-time series with the Red Storm by a large margin of 51-37. St. John’s hopes to get a win streak going after a 69-57 win over Syracuse last season. The Orange had previously won the last nine games against the Red Storm before last season.
St. John’s enters into 2015 with first year head coach Chris Mullin. Will he be able to lead the Red Storm to another victory over Syracuse? This rivalry continues in December!
