Villanova, Virginia to Play Home-and-Home Series

With the report of the Sun Belt Conference fining teams for playing weak non-conference schedules, it was inevitable that the Power Conference teams would soon start filing in with stronger schedules as well. The Villanova Wildcats and Virginia Cavaliers are planning on doing just that.

According to College Basketball Talk, the Wildcats and Cavaliers have already set up a two year home-and-home series that will start in 2015. The first game of the series will take place in Charlottesville in December with next year’s match-up happening in Philadelphia.

Villanova and Virginia, reigning Big East and ACC champions respectively, both received an early exit from the NCAA Tournament last season after the Cavs were upset by eventual Final Four team Michigan State and the Wildcats fell to NC State.

Both teams are preseason top ten teams and are both favorites to win their respective conferences this season. I honestly think that when these two powerhouses clash on the court, the only real winners will be us fans enjoying every second of it.
