Randy Moss Shows Up at Fan’s Graduation

High school graduation is a special time for any senior. You are taking the first big step into adulthood. You have dedicated twelve years of your life to walk across the stage and turn you tassel. Your friends and family come from hours away to see you get your diploma. For one Pelican Rapids senior, it was even more special when an idol of hers showed up at the ceremony to hand her the diploma.

According to InForum, former Minnesota Viking wide receive Randy Moss was in attendance for Pelican Rapids High School’s graduation ceremony. He was there to present Kassi Spier, a young woman that Moss befriended during his rookie season, her high school diploma. Spier was a special young lady and Moss could relate to her struggled past.

IN her youth, Spier battled leukemia. In 2004, her father was killed in a car accident and, in 2013, Spier was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She battled through all of her trials and Moss wasn’t going to miss her walking across the stage.

“She’s had many struggles in her life, and he’s been there for her,” Pelican Rapids Public School District Superintendent Deb Wanek said. “He told her he’d be at her high school graduation.”

The seven-time Pro Bowler has achieved some amazing things in his life and will always be remembered for his athletic ability on the field. But, in the eyes of Kassi Spier, he will always be remembered as a friend.
