Could former 5-star WR Derrick Griffin land at Texas A&M?

There is some potentially very exciting news for fans of the Texas A&M Aggies.

Over the weekend, news serviced from 247 Sports that former five-star wide receiver recruit Derrick Griffin could find himself eligible to immediately transfer away from Texas Southern. Griffin was able to get his GPA to the requirement that will allow him to be cleared by the NCAA to join his preferred school.

That school is Texas A&M, per the report.

But would Griffin have to sit out a season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules? That is where things get exciting for fans of his potential landing spot.

Because Griffin never signed a letter of intent to play at Texas Southern and because he was never on scholarship or officially a member of the football team, Griffin would be eligible to play immediately with all four years of eligibility remaining.

If everything works out, Griffin could find himself suited up for the Aggies this fall.
