Another Atlanta Falcon made the news in relation to animal cruelty on Friday afternoon and it is looking like linebacker Prince Shembo will be getting charged with killing his girlfriend’s dog. Jake Golic, son of ESPN radio personality Mike Golic and former teammate of Shembo, took to Twitter to address the situation.
Golic tweeted “As if his resume needed another bruise” and “Not the slightest bit surprised” in two separate posts on Twitter. The two posts have since been deleted.
Of course, what you put on the Internet is permanent, so College Spun grabbed the screenshots.
Golic’s “resume” comment was most likely referring to Shembo’s sexual assault accusation by a St. Mary’s student who later committed suicide.
The news of Shembo’s arrest has come as a shock to not only Notre Dame and the Falcons, but to the entire sports community. Let’s just hope that Shembo has not become this decade’s Michael Vick.
