4-Star Receiver assures fans he’s committed to Oregon

Imagine this. You are the coach of an elite college football program and you just received a commitment from one of the top wide receivers in the country. You believe that he is going to be a part of your program for the next few years to come. Then, he takes a visit to another huge power conference school and you feel as though the rug has been ripped from underneath you.

That is exactly how Mark Helfrich and the Oregon Ducks felt this past weekend when four star wide receiver Dillon Mitchell, who is committed to Oregon, posted about his trip to Alabama.

According to College Spun, the tweets about him taking a trip to the south rolled in on Friday of last week. It was followed by a second tweet early Monday morning.

Being in SEC country ain't no joke when it comes to recruiting

Our camp trip starts today! Headed to Alabama for the first stop of our trip tomorrow.

Luckily for Oregon, Mitchell is only headed to the camps as part of a team trip. The team stopped at Ole Miss over the weekend and headed to Alabama this morning. He took to his Twitter again to reassure Duck fans that he is going to be a Duck.

My commitment to Oregon💚💛 is 110% and I will stay committed. I am on a camp trip with my team so I have to go. That's for any confusion.

So before Oregon fans get high strung about losing a top 25 wide receiver, they can sit back and relax. Mitchell is committed to the program and he is just going to make this team better.
