Missouri’s Prized Recruit Cleared to Play by NCAA

How would you feel if you are one of the top recruits in the nation at your position and after you sign a letter of intent to play at a huge power school, you are declared ineligible by the NCAA?

Well that is exactly what happened to four-star defensive lineman Terry Beckner Jr back on National Signing Day in April. He signed with the Missouri Tigers and had to do some more work before he could begin workouts with the team.

That has all changed now.

On Wednesday, College Football Talk reported that Beckner would be eligible to play for the 2015 season. The report originally came from Gabe DeArmond of PowerMizzou.com via his Twitter account.

The East St. Louis, Illinois native was the highest rated recruit for the Missouri Tigers in 2015 with a 6.0 rating by Rivals. This makes him the highest recruit since former Tiger Dorial Green-Beckham’s 6.1 rating in 2012.

The two-time defending SEC East champions have been known for a strong front seven in the past two seasons. Now, they just got a whole lot stronger.
