With six Final Four appearances, a national championship, and easily one of the greatest draft classes in the history of college basketball, John Calipari certainly has his fans and his naysayers.
With that being said, so does every presidential candidate for the last fifty years. So why wouldn’t Calipari stand a chance in a presidential election?
According to College Spun, Calipari held a press conference and shocked everyone in the room with his opening statement. The 56-year-old Kentucky Wildcats coach announced that he would be running for President of the United States.

Of course, Coach Calipari was joking. As if you couldn’t tell by the winking emoji.
In all seriousness, who wouldn’t vote for Calipari? I mean, there has been stranger names thrown into the presidential hat before. Donald Trump was one of the more popular names for the 2008 election. WWE owner Vince McMahon even teased a presidential candidacy in 2012, which would make a lot of sense being that his wife Linda legitimately ran for Connecticut State Senate.
Calipari is one of the most successful coaches of the last twenty years and he certainly has a way with persuasive situations. So I say go for it coach! Please save us from Hilary in 2016.
