John Calipari has sure been making the rounds when it comes to radio appearances in the last week and a half. After getting into a heated argument with Dan Patrick about his “platoon system,” he appeared on Colin Cowherd’s show and tore into the ESPN host about his criticism of former Kentucky star and current Washington Wizards point guard John Wall.
According to College Basketball Talk, Calipari went on to the show and blasted Cowherd for his lengthy criticism about Wall.
Ever since a young, 18-year-old Wall made his debut in the NBA, Cowherd hasn’t been afraid to talk about his attitude and playing skill. Calipari had finally heard enough.
He opened his rant on Cowherd by telling him that he “has got to stop.” The criticism stemmed from Wall doing “The Dougie” during a pre-game entrance with the Wizards.
I have to agree with Coach on this one. The kid was young. Heck, he is still young. Let the guy have some fun. Why must most of these radio personalities have a big mouth for them to insert their foot into?
I commend Calipari for defending Wall. The only thing I hope for is that he appears on Jim Rome’s show and shuts that guy up for at least five minutes.
