The Boise State Broncos aren’t shy about taking risks when it comes to the football field. Remember the 2007 Fiesta Bowl? The Hook-and-lateral play that tied the game up and then the gutsy Statue of Liberty play that won the game for the Broncos in overtime? What about having a royal blue football field that nearly blinds viewers every time they watch a home game on television?
The Broncos appeared to have taken another risk when they introduced new helmets seemingly for the 2015 season.
Uni Watch weekend editor Phil Hecken posted a picture of Broncos Donte Deayon and Ryan Wolpin at practice to his Twitter. The difference in this picture? A giant block letter “B” on the side of the players’ helmets.

I personally like the royal blue helmets with the large outline of the team’s Bronco logo, but these are still pretty sweet. Unfortunately, these helmets were only for the Broncos’ spring game and will apparently not be used for the upcoming season.

Aw shucks! I was really looking forward to watching Broncos dominate in these cool new helmets like last season after they went 12-2 and won both the Mountain West championship and the Fiesta Bowl.
