Michigan lands dual threat quarterback for 2016

Jim Harbaugh surely knows how to attract signal callers to his program — maybe it has something to do with Andrew Luck and Colin Kaepernick being so successful under him during his time at Stanford and with the San Francisco 49ers.

Michigan is enjoying the luxury of having Harbaugh as they have just added another quarterback to their already loaded pool of offensive leaders.

Three-star dual threat quarterback Victor Viramontes committed to the Wolverines late Monday night. The 2016 recruit made the announcement via Twitter.

First off, how cool of a name does this kid have? Secondly, the Wolverines are now loaded down with guys that can sling the ball around the field. After Iowa graduate transfer Jake Rudock landed in Ann Arbor, Big Blue had four guys on their quarterback depth chart with one more to arrive at campus in July.

Four of those five guys, including returning 2014 starter Shane Morris, will be eligible to return to Michigan next season and that just makes the quarterback competition even more jumbled.

Viramontes joins four-star quarterback Brandon Peters in Michigan’s 2016 recruiting class after picking them over Nebraska, Wisconsin, Colorado and others.
