Mike Krzyzewski shares thoughts on charging fouls

Dan Patrick really hasn’t had the best of luck with having college coaches on his show. A month ago, John Calipari ripped him for criticizing his platoon system during the basketball season. This time Duke Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski appeared on the show and the topic of charging fouls came up.

According to a video shared by College Basketball Talk, Krzyzewski discussed his playing time at Army under legendary head coach Bob Knight. Then, Patrick asked about how he was taught to take charges during his playing days.

Patrick then said if he was taking charges, he wouldn’t fake them like at Duke. That was over the line and Coach K was sure to tell him why it was.

Krzyzewski told him that his opinion was completely wrong about the way his players take charges and “overdramatize” things. Patrick then said that if he took a charge, he would do it like a soccer player and stay on the ground to really drive home his point.

Again, Patrick has just made a complete a-hole of himself on his own show. Patrick was not a professional athlete and he probably will never have the chance to take a real charge. I only hope that he plays in a celebrity basketball game and someone gets the chance to run him over.
