Yesterday, we brought you a slideshow of SEC teams having their uniform colors swapped with their biggest rivals. Now, Reddit user eharvey328 is at it again as he has released three more Power Five conference slideshows for fans to feast their eyes.
We have all three of those for you today.
Imgur has the original slideshow that features Big 12 teams having their colors mashed up with their rivals. Some of these, like the SEC, work really well together. Some, eh, not so much.
When I first TCU’s colors being switched with Baylor’s I was confused. I don’t really consider those two teams rivals. Yeah, you guys both sucked at the bottom of the Big 12 and now you are both the frontrunners to win the conference this year, but that doesn’t make you rivals.
Anyway, I don’t see much difference with neither TCU’s or Baylor’s uniform colors. You could put the Horned Frogs in green and gold and I wouldn’t really know that the Bears weren’t playing on the field.
Texas being swapped with Oklahoma and vice-versa really doesn’t do much except alienate Austin and Norman to their wits end. Both uniforms are already so plain as it is anyway.
My personal favorite is between a team that is at the bottom of the conference and another that left the conference just three seasons ago. Swapping Kansas’s colors with Missouri’s black and yellow actually kind of helped the Jayhawks’ look. Maybe they should consider a permanent change.
The one that I think will piss off the most people is the recently ended Backyard Brawl. West Virginia is the newest and oddest addition to the Big 12 and ever since joining, they haven’t played Pittsburgh consistently like when they were in the now defunct Big East. Swapping the Mountaineers’ colors for the Panthers’ can only add fuel to the fire, especially since renewing the rivalry is the biggest priority for West Virginia’s athletic director.
