Photo: Kansas has new jerseys for World University Games

The Kansas Jayhawks are doing their country proud by representing the United States in South Korea as part of the World University Games. The team is currently 2-0 in play and have been dominating anyone who stepped on the court.

The team will have to continue their dominant run in different jerseys now, but that shouldn’t affect they way they are playing

College Spun shared a photo of the Jayhawks’ new jerseys for the rest of the games and they really don’t differ much from the old jerseys. The Jayhawks had been using jerseys that had stars on the back and red, white, and blue colors to represent both the USA and the school’s colors back home. FIBA has asked the team to eliminate the word “KANSAS” from the front of the jerseys as all other teams represent their home countries and not a college team.

Maybe FIBA didn’t want the rest of the world knowing that they are getting demolished by a small group of college kids that doesn’t contain the absolute best players the USA has to offer. Either way, I don’t see Kansas allowing the uniform change to bother them too much. Bill Self is ready for whatever.
