Michigan TE joins crazy catch race with Mitchell and OBJ

On Tuesday, we brought a story of New York Giant wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr and UGA wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell showing off their ridiculous catching skills. One Michigan player didn’t want to feel left, so on Wednesday, he posted a video of himself answering the challenge that the two laid out.

College Spun shared a video of Jake Butt making some pretty impressive flat-back catches. Some people may say he still has a way to go, but I think he could be right on par with Mitchell and Beckham Jr.

What makes this more impressive is the fact that Butt is a tight end and not a receiver. Tight ends are generally not as athletic as wide receivers, but I think Jimmy Graham would have something to say about that.

Butt will certainly help the Wolverines a little more this season. The rising junior caught passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns last season.

The Wolverines open the season on the road against Utah on September 5.
