Video: Top five recruit crosses defender, dunks hard

One of the most exciting things for me to witness whenever I attended a high school basketball game when I was a kid was to see one of the home team’s players throw down a rim-rocking dunk. It was always so fun and rare to see one of my buddies get a fast break and throw down with such force that I thought the glass would break. Even when I played basketball, it was exciting to see.

This top recruit for the class of 2016 got his final summer as a high school athlete started off the right way when he made an opponent look silly and then throw down an awesome jam.

College Basketball Talk shared the video of top five recruit Dennis Smith Jr. crossing up a defender, getting into the lane, and finishing strong at the rim. It was a pretty impressive video that you have to see to believe.

The six-foot-three point guard from Trinity Christian School in Fayetteviile, North Carolina is currently ranked as the number one point guard in the country and the third player overall. This five-star athlete has offers from all over the East Coast, but he currently is favoring in-state North Carolina State.

Wherever Smith Jr. lands, he is going to give his opponents fits. I personally hope the kid doesn’t decide on the Wolf Pack. That would be bad for Duke.
