Picture this: You are top high school basketball player in all of the country and you know that a top tier basketball coach, like Kentucky’s John Calipari, is coming to watch you play. During your game/workout, you look over and see Washington Wizards superstar John Wall sitting next to Calipari. What do you do?
I know what I do. I continue to play, but I make extra sure I am able to show off some of my skills in an even bigger way.
A few lucky recruits had that opportunity Thursday night.
College Spun shared a photo of Calipari and the man that single-handedly started Kentucky’s dominance of the last few years, Wall when they ran into each other while the coach was on the recruiting trail. Wall was the number one pick to the Wizards in the 2010 NBA Draft.

It’s sure nice to see that the Calipari and Wall still have a good connection with each other. But wouldn’t you if you were Wall? Calipari was instrumental in helping him grow his brand as a college athlete that eventually led to him being taken first overall in the Draft.
Let’s hope that the kids lucky enough to see both of these Lexington legends in the same room at the same time were smart enough to know that you talk to them and them only.
