Arkansas media guide perfectly features offensive line

Arkansas running backs Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams are grateful to have as big and strong an offensive line that they do. The pair of Razorback runners ran for 1,000 yards apiece in 2014. However, it isn’t them that get the honor of gracing the team’s media guide for 2015.

It’s the big boys up front.

College Spun shared a sneak peek of the Razorbacks’ media guide for the upcoming season. Bret Bielema did the classy thing, and in my mind the correct thing, by featuring his offensive line of the cover of the magazine.

The offensive line are the heart and soul of an offense, especially one like Arkansas. The Razorbacks ran the ball over sixty percent of the time last season and averaged 218 yards a game, a stat that was twenty-sixth in the country.

It’s not every day that the big boys get the love that they deserve, so this was the rightful thing for the Razorbacks to do. It tells fans, and opponents, that we are going to run the ball down your throat…A LOT.

It worked last year for the Hogs as the team went 7-6 and won the Texas Bowl over the Texas Longhorns 31-7. This comes just one year after the Razorbacks went 3-9 and 0-8 in the SEC in 2013. This was the first time a team had ever gone winless in the SEC.

The Razorbacks look to keep their powerful run game on the up as they open the 2015 season on September 5 against UTEP.
