Auburn football team works out in sand pits

Sand pits. High school and college football players all over the country usually dread to hear those two words put together. I know I did. Whether it was doing blocking drills, flipping tires, pulling sleds, or just crawling, you knew you were getting a good workout if you were in a 10×20 box of blistering-hot sand.

The Auburn football team is a little different as they seem to enjoy torturing themselves. College Spun shared a video of a group of players taking a break from working out in the sand pit near their practice facility.

Dhaquille Williams seems to be pretty serious about getting back to the national championship game.

The Tigers played in the final BCS National Championship game in 2014 and they hope to get to the College Football Playoff in 2016. The team lost to Wisconsin in a bit of an upset during last year’s Outback Bowl.

The Auburn Tigers open the 2015 season in the Georgia Dome against Louisville on September 5.
