Shelby Christy never saw the field for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He redshirted his freshman season and during camp in August of last year, he tore his ACL, which cost him the entire season.
He announced on Monday night that he would be returning home to Louisiana to play for the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns. The announcement came via his Twitter account.
The former three-star wide receiver in Mississippi State’s 2013 class is from Geismar, Louisiana. He will certainly be a huge help to the Cajuns. Because he missed the 2014 season due to injury, he should receive a medical waiver from the NCAA and should be eligible for the 2015 season.
The Cajuns open the season on the road against Kentucky on September 5.
