Video: Fans salute Jayhawks on return from South Korea

The Kansas Jayhawks returned from South Korea on Wednesday afternoon after they won gold representing Team USA in the World University Games. Fans came out in full force at the Jayhawk baseball stadium to support the team upon their return.

College Basketball Talk shared a video of the team returning in front of a packed stadium. The fans gave the team a rightful standing ovation.

I understand the fans doing the traditional, and somewhat frightening, “Rock Chalk, Jayhawk” chant as they did dominate throughout the tournament. But, they were representing the United States. I was a little disappointed that the fans didn’t chant “USA” and show a little patriotic pride.

Nonetheless, the Jayhawks had a great run in South Korea and I applaud Bill Self and the team for representing their country well. Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!
