Oregon center could be ready for basketball season

Losing a key piece to your team is always devastating. The Oregon Ducks made their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance this season, but in May they lost a key piece of that team and his return has been in question for some time now.

That could be changing in the very near future.

According to College Basketball Talk, Jordan Bell, the Oregon center who broke his foot, had surgery in May to fix the injury. His return has been in question since the injury and now it seems like he will be ready to hit the court in October.

The freshman big man was a big help to the Ducks on the court last season as he averaged 5.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game to go along with 2.7 blocks per game. That was good enough to help the Ducks finish 26-10 and advanced to the second round of the Tournament before falling to eventual runner-up Wisconsin.

The Ducks would love to have Bell on the court come November. He could be a deciding factor in whether or not the team wins the Pac 12 this season.
