Cornerback follows in father’s footsteps, commits to Spurrier

Jack Jackson was an integral part of Steve Spurrier’s high octane offense at Florida in the 90’s. Spurrier knows all about the Jackson family and more than twenty years later, he will be coaching another member of that family.

According to College Spun, Jack’s son Tre Jackson has committed to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks in 2016. Jackson announced his commitment to his father’s former coach via Twitter Saturday evening.

Jackson, a three-star cornerback from Baton Rogue, Louisiana, is the sixty-sixth ranked cornerback in the nation for 2016. This is going to be a great relationship for Spurrier and Jackson.

Jack was an explosive return man for Gators during their run in the 90’s. With Pharaoh Cooper leaving this season, maybe Tre could be the next great return man in the SEC.
