The Virginia Tech football team is either very humble or just pretty economically sound when it comes to their method of travel to the ACC Kickoff. They have decided to roll into Pinehurst, North Carolina in style, but in such a big, flashy way that they will turn heads upon arrival.
College Spun shared a photo of the interior of the “Beamer Mobile” with the team’s infamous lunch pail sitting on the front seat. Head coach Frank Beamer and a few players rode down to the ACC Media Days Sunday morning in the coach’s car. That is a rather classy way to travel.
The team could have taken a private jet down the road, but that really would have been a waste of money for the program. The Kickoff is only three hours away from Blacksburg, Virginia.
Plus, riding in a car with your coach is a good way to find out two things: 1. What the man is really about when it comes to his choice of music and temperature in the car and 2. What is the easiest way to tick him off.
The Hokies open the 2015 season on the road in Columbus, Ohio to take on the defending national champions Ohio State on Monday, September 7.
