Although the Duke Blue Devils and Maryland Terrapins haven’t met on the court since 2011 due to the latter team moving to the Big Ten, there is still a huge rivalry between the two teams.
That was definitely apparent after Maryland head football coach Randy Edsall tweeted out an inspirational quote from the rival head basketball coach, Mike Krzyzewski and broke the internet Sunday night.
SI.com shared multiple tweets from Terrapin fans who were not happy at all with their coach. Can you really blame them though? You have to see some of the hilarious responses Edsall got.

One guy even claimed Coach Edsall had blocked him from his Twitter account. Things must have gotten heated between the two.

Maybe Terrapin fans should be grateful that Edsall is taking inspiration from Coach K, regardless if he is a rival coach or not. Duke leads the all-time series 110-61 and has won nine of the last ten meetings. It has also been thirteen years since the Terps won a national championship on the court, while Duke has won two in the last five.
I know one thing is for sure. If Duke and Maryland are to meet up on the basketball court in the future, I’m sure Edsall won’t be really that welcome by the Terrapin fans.
