4-Star RB Elijah Holyfield sets announcement date

One of the top running backs in the nation, four-star Elijah Holyfield, son of boxer Evander Holyfield, has trimmed his list of schools down to five and has set a date for his announcement. All of the final five schools are members of the Southeastern Conference — which comes as no surprise.

Holyfield, who plays at Woodward Academy in Atlanta, informed 247 Sports of his final five schools.

“Alabama – because they have had so much success in recent years, Georgia because they are in-state, Tennessee because I really like Coach Gillespie, South Carolina because I have teammates there now and Auburn because it feels like home every time I go,” Holyfield told Dawgs247.

But when will the announcement come? Holyfield shared that news on social media.

Holyfield is the No. 5 ranked running back in the nation and the No. 17 player in the state of Georgia.

Could he remain in-state and give the Bulldogs another highly-touted running back to rely on? Only time will tell.
