Video: Jamal Murray was crazy good at Pan-Am Games

Team Canada advanced to the gold medal game in basketball at the Pan-Am Games last week. You could probably put most of the praise on incoming Kentucky Wildcats freshman Jamal Murray.

College Basketball Talk shared Murray’s highlight reel from the semifinals match-up against Team USA. From just watching the video, you can tell why John Calipari is excited to have this guy playing in Lexington this season.

Murray’s impressive performance in the semifinals helped Team Canada fight back from a ten point deficit as they went on to win the game in overtime. Murray, who had been a backup point guard for the duration of the Games, came in and showed off his talents.

He recorded twenty-two points and six assists. Four of his assists came in the fourth quarter or overtime. One of his biggest plays was blocking a Team USA shot with under twenty-five seconds left in regulation that could have gave them the win.

If you are a Kentucky fan, you are probably pretty stoked to have a guy with the playing ability of Murray. If you are the rest of the country, well you have just been put on notice.
