WWE has ruled the wrestling video game world for some time now and it looks like they will continue to dominate for 2015. From 2011-2013, WWE didn’t have the best of luck in hitting the mark with their video games. That all changed in 2014
That was when WWE partnered with Take Two Interactive, better known as 2KSports, to create one of the most lifelike and dynamic wrestling games to date. WWE 2K16 seems to be taking that extra step.
USA Today’s For The Win shared an epic teaser trailer for the upcoming game that revealed a certain celebrity will be making an appearance in the game. The Terminator will be a pre-order bonus for fans of the game.
The trailer, which can be seen below, features WWE Superstars Daniel Bryan and Dean Ambrose, NXT Champion Finn Balor, and Divas Eva Marie and Paige. The trailer is an obvious homage to the bar fight scene in Terminator 2 where he walks into a bar and demands one rebellious customer to give him his “clothes, boots, and motorcycle.” In the trailer, the rebellious customer is perfectly portrayed by Ambrose.
If this doesn’t make wrestling fans go out and pre-order the game now, I don’t know what will. Arnold Schwarzenegger was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Celebrity Wing earlier, this year, he and the company have had a tremendous relationship.
WWE even went so far as giving COO Triple H and epic Terminator-themed entrance to his match against Sting at Wrestlemania. The entrance doubled as a promotion for Terminator: Genisys, which hadn’t released at that point.
I can only imagine the epic match-ups that will come out of The Terminator making an appearance in this year’s game. Triple H vs The Terminator is certainly the first match I will be playing.
Man, I can’t wait until October 27.
