It looks like the defending national champions will be without their All-American defensive end to open the season. The Ohio State Buckeyes announced that Joey Bosa and three wide receivers are expected to miss the season opener against Virginia Tech on September 7.
According to The Dispatch, the players violated a rule of the athletic program. Head coach Urban Meyer has not spoken on the issue, but it has been confirmed by multiple sources.
The other players suspended are:

Bosa was a consensus All-American as a sophomore defensive end last season. He recorded 13.5 sacks, just shy of Vernon Gholston’s single season record. It is believed that he will be a top pick in the NFL Draft next year if he is to forgo his senior season.
On the other side of the ball, Marshall stepped up last season to play the hybrid running back position. This is of interest due to Braxton Miller announcing a position switch from quarterback to H-back, Marshall’s position, earlier this month.
This is surely going to be an interesting development. Be sure to stick with Campus Sports for updates on the situation.
